A storied hotel at India's celebrated city of Kolkata has featured the 'Shashi Kapoor Room' remembering the touristic emotions with the legendary Indian actor of all time. The Fairlawn Heritage hotel established in 1783, has its roots back to colonial Britishers.

From Shashi Kapoor's parents to Shashi Kapoor's own family, they had made this hotel their 'home away from home'. The room number 17 of this hotel is of Kapoor's legacy which features various photos of Kapoor family and news clippings.

''He was known to have given up staying in five-star hotels'', reads a news clipping of Times of India, ''Whenever Shashi Kapoor was in Kolkata for work and leisure, room number 17 at Fairlawn Hotel was the only address where he would be found.''

Because of this legacy Nepal's veteran photojournalist Bikash Rauniyar frequents this hotel whenever he is to make his footfall in Kolkata. '' It is even said that, Shashi Kapoor was conceived in this hotel'', said Rauniyar, ''I have special attachment with this hotel. I have stayed with my wife Samjhana also.''
